What is PDPlus™?
PDPlus is an optional module in GastroPlus that allows you to fit standard pharmacodynamic (PD) models to observed data. Multiple models
(therapeutic and adverse)
can be accommodated for each drug record.
In cases where a drug’s therapeutic and adverse actions have been studied in human physiology, sufficient data will usually be available to build sophisticated PD models for therapeutic effects. These models can be used to assess changing doses, dosage forms, and dose regimens to fit new therapeutic goals without exceeding toxicity limits, as well as options to make existing dose regimens more efficient.
With PDPlus, fitting pharmacodynamic models to observed effect data is quick and easy. You can build PK/PD models with any of the standard direct link
(linear, log linear, Emax, and sigmoid Emax)
or
indirect link (Class I, II, III or IV)
PD models.
There is no code-writing required.
PDPlus can be used with both compartmental and physiologically-based pharmacokinetics (PBPK) in GastroPlus. With the PBPKPlus Module, the PD model can be fitted by relating the PD effect to predicted drug concentration in any tissue. With both the PBPKPlus and Metabolism and Transporter Modules, metabolite concentration(s) can also be modeled, and the PD effect can be related to the concentration of parent drug or any of its metabolites.
Convenient plotting allows for visualization of effect compartment concentration and PD effect vs. time or PD effect vs. effect compartment concentration. All plots can be displayed on absolute or log scale.
You can fully format graphs to your specifications, and plotted data and/or the graphical image can be copied and pasted into another application (e.g., Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
