Post Doctoral Fellow, Clinical Pharmacology and DMPK at Theravance Biopharma
Job Purpose
The Clinical Pharmacology and DMPK (CPDMPK) department at Theravance Biopharma, in partnering with Simulations Plus, Inc., is seeking a Ph.D. level candidate who is driven to use modeling and simulation (M&S) approaches, with special focus on physiologically-based pharmacokinetic modeling techniques (PBPK), to better understand the depositional characteristics of preclinical and clinical drug candidates developed within Theravance Biopharma. This individual will be responsible for the development and implementation of a PBPK platform to evaluate multiple candidates with pulmonary delivery as the method of administration. The PBPK platform will cover multiple species to enable modeling and simulation across these species for translational purposes. The overall work will be done using GastroPlus™ as the main PBPK software package.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities are to plan, organize, execute, and report PBPK modeling work independently, as well as to present the work within DMPK/clinical pharmacology functions, at cross-functional teams, and conferences as needed. These will be accomplished by working closely with co-mentor(s) from Simulations Plus. Additionally, the candidate will also work closely with other scientists in DMPK/Clinical Pharmacology, Preclinical and Translational research, and other functions.
Qualifications
Candidates should have solid expertise in PBPK and strong hands-on M&S skills. Hands-on experience with GastroPlus, Simcyp, Matlab SimBiology, and/or other PBPK software is required. Hands-on experience with other modeling and simulation software (such as ADAPT, Berkeley-Madonna, NONMEM, and SPLUS/R) is a plus. The candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
