Moving Beyond Animals for Toxicity Testing and Coronavirus Research

March 27, 2020

1:30pm – 3:30pm MST (4:30pm – 6:30pm EDT)

Advances in 3D and in vitro models have led to fundamental improvements in human disease modeling, drug development, toxicology testing, and more. As technology advances scientists are integrating human-relevant methods such as tissues-on-chips, 3D bioprinting, organoids, and other in vitro and in silico models into research to produce more reliable results. This talk is the third in a series of four lectures dedicated to exploring methods for more human-relevant testing and research and will focus on in silico and in vitro methods for toxicity testing. In light of the current coronavirus pandemic, the event will be moved online and will also feature discussion of the need for more human-based research for coronavirus therapies and vaccines.

Expert Speakers
• Kristie Sullivan, MPH, Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine
