About Camila
Camila de Almeida is a Director of Quantitative Clinical Pharmacology, at Simulations Plus. Dr. Almeida has 14 years of pharmaceutical development experience at AstraZeneca (2009-2018), Certara (2018-2022), and Parexel (2022-2023).
Dr. Almeida received her B.S. in Molecular Sciences from the University of São Paulo and her Ph.D. in Systems Biology from the University of Aberdeen. She has extensive experience in translational Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) research, Clinical Pharmacology, Modeling & Simulations, particularly in the Oncology research area.
Her experience spans from early development, with the design and analysis of non-clinical PK/PD studies, drug candidate selection, estimation of FIH doses, PK aspects of protocol development, and population PK analysis of Phase 1-3 trials. She has experience with both small and large molecules, including bi-specific molecules and complex biologics. In her current role as both Clinical Pharmacologist and Pharmacometrician, Dr. Almeida brings together regulatory expertise and quantitative analytic skills to support clients throughout the course of drug development and plays a strategic role when assisting clients with regulatory strategies, meetings, and document writing.
She has co-authored publications in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at international meetings in these areas of expertise.
