Important Notice:

Regarding the log4j vulnerabilities described in CVE-2021-44228CVE-2021-45046, and CVE-2021-45105:  Our products do not require Log4j and are not vulnerable to the exploits. An older version of log4j (version 1.2.8) is installed with the Flexera License Server that is used to license our products.  This version of log4j is not affected by any of the listed vulnerabilities.  However, the jar file – C:\Program Files (x86)\FlexNet Publisher License Server Manager\examples\alerter\lib\Log4j-1.2.8.jar – is not required and may be removed.

Software Installation

Our software is designed to run on Pentium-class Windows 11 (64-bit), Windows 10 (64-bit) and Windows 8 (64-bit) computers or Windows Server 2019 (64-bit), Windows Server 2016 (64-bit), and Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2 (64-bit). A minimum of 1 GB of RAM is recommended for optimal performance.

Most modern Pentium machines with speeds of 1 GHz or faster should be able to run our software; however, simulation software is computationally intensive and always benefits from greater speed and memory. On a 2.4 GHz Pentium 4 computer with 512 MB of RAM, our software executes a typical 24-hour single simulation in less than one second with standard compartmental pharmacokinetics. Because they incorporate a much larger set of differential equations, PBPK simulations typically require about 5-10 seconds, but can be longer.

Our software runs on Mac operating systems with Windows virtualization.

Cloud Service Offerings

All Simulations Plus Inc. software can be deployed via a cloud based model using Amazon Web Services (EC2), a scalable, reliable, and secure global computing infrastructure, that is the virtual backbone of’s multi-billion dollar online business that has been honed for over a decade.

You pay only for the software licenses, plus compute power, storage, and other resources you use, with no long-term contracts or up-front commitments.

Using our cloud model, our customers don’t have to worry about installation deployment, upgrades, licensing, or administration of computing resources, as our dedicated cloud specialists take care of all information technology related tasks, so that our customers can focus on science.

Each user license can be installed on a standalone machine (‘standalone’) or uploaded to a network server (‘floating seat’) – there is no difference in price, as we charge one license fee for our products. It is left to your organization as to how the license(s) will be made available to the user community.

As you can imagine, the vast majority of our clients will install the software to a network license server (or similar shared resource), as the sharing of licenses between users & across departments provides significant value for companies of all sizes. The restriction is that the user license is only to be accessed by those scientists based within a specific geographical location (within fifty (50) miles of the territorial boundaries of the city where the software is installed).
