Use of oral absorption modelling to characterize drug release and absorption of a BCS II compound from IR formulations

Software: GastroPlus®
Division: PBPK

The webinar will present a case study on the use of oral absorption modelling in combination with in vitro dissolution testing to characterize the mechanism of drug release and absorption of a BCS class II compound from immediate-release formulations. Additionally, the development of an in vitro-in vivo correlation model using the GastroPlus™ mechanistic deconvolution method will be described.

The presentation illustrates the applicability and impact of mechanistic absorption modelling to support oral formulation development and improve the prediction of drug bioavailability from immediate-release formulations.
